The theater club was established in 1989 by a group of students who wanted to be able to express themselves through the form of acting. The first president of the club was Suzanne Winters she had a certain love for the arts that has inspired children since the program was founded. The club has been growing every since 1989 and has put on more then four hundred plays ranging from Hamlet to The Wizard of Oz. Each year the club goes on two trips, one to New York and the other to Chicago. The kids that are part of this adventure come back with a new found love for the arts. This year a new center for the fine arts and theater program will open and be named after the beloved Suzanne Winter. Everyone is excited about the new facility and cannot wait for it to open.
